Computer Education to Rural Villages
As the world is progressing towards rapid development with a focus on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as one of its main industries, having basic computer skills is almost a necessity. These skills will undoubtedly increase educational and employment opportunities for all.
Cherukonda Venkanna Foundation recently opened the education center in Kapra village in India which is adjacent to the Wyvil Infotech Solutions & Services. The local staffs who run this center conduct regular classes which provide necessary computer education to a wide range of target groups. Current and past classes and training courses include:
- Basic computer skills classes for the children.
- Present and focus on computer facilitated learning for children.
- Daily IT classes for children and youth from the wider community which attracts large number of students.
- Classes range from basic computer skills to MS Power Point, Photoshop, Excel, PageMaker, and Macromedia Flash.
- Computer Education Program (CEP) directed to the youth within the community.
- Basic computer skills classes for others.
- Computer training classes are held for teachers.
- Sunday access to computers is provided for a teacher. and a group of children from the local primary school.

Basic Provisions for Rural Schools
Government schools in the rural area are highly under-resourced; they suffer from lack of proper infrastructure, large teacher-student ratios, lack of computer equipment, and teaching materials.
Cherukonda Venkanna Foundation has been working with the staff and community in rural villages to help educate them in the following ways:- Provision of desks and fans for classrooms
- Provision of a school kitchen
- Computer classes for the children, computer training for teachers, and on-call support for technical problems with computers
- Environmental education classes
